Every year, IBM holds its annual PULSE event, which is one of the most important annual events for IBM partners and customers. As part of this event, IBM highlights successful partners who’ve stood out in their approach to reselling IBM services.

In 2013, Storagepipe was honoured for their innovation in delivering the Fastback DR platform through an as-a-Service model. IBM Fastback DR is the premier platform for backup and disaster recovery for Windows servers.

Fastback DR allows IT administrators to gain fast bare-metal recovery of servers into dissimilar environments, which makes it extremely practical for IT emergencies that require fast recovery. Fastback also offers extremely fast mounting of backup drives, and granular recovery options for Exchange, SQL and other enterprise systems.

As part of this presentation, Storagepipe had put together a video cloud infographic which outlines emerging trends in cloud adoption and data protection. All of the statistics from this infographic were taken from reputable sources, based on objective research done by industry analysts.

Below are a few interesting highlights:

  • 7 in 10 CEOs surveyed have indicated that technology will have a more significant impact on their business than the economy over the next 3 years.
  • Industry analysts have found that cloud adoption has been growing at roughly 18.5% per year.
  • In 2011, American businesses spent over $18 Billion on cloud services.
  • By 2016, it’s expected that American businesses will be spending $43 Billion per year on cloud services.
